Here is new version of swirl bread. For those of you, who find switching to whole wheat difficult. This is perfect alternative to get you started on switching to healthy alternative. Your favorite bread combined with whole wheat goodness.
Swirl bread is made by using the 100% * Whole Wheat bread recipe & your favorite
white bread recipe.
Note: You can also add cinnamon, apple dehydrated in it!
Method:
- Make the Whole Wheat (fool Proof) First ans while rising make the white bread of your choice, and let it rise 10 minutes. Note: Usually rises faster in warm place.
- Roll the white flat first then about the same amount of *whole wheat on top of the white and roll up tight and place in pan to rise, about 15- 20 min. Use a-1 lbs. s/s pan, raising the bread at 148 degrees.
- Then turn on oven and let temperature rise to 350.
- Bake at 350 – 20 minutes for normal. Larger pan-25 minutes or until done.
Note: The Wheat Cookery book Pg. 18, Light White Bread is a good one. Personally I don’t scald the milk and I use honey and not sugar. And ½ the recipe of 18 cups to – 9 cups.
Note: When raising the bread it is – AT 148 degrees. PRE- HEAT ONLY TO 148 degrees!
When you cut the bread it is swirled, it looks neat & tastes very good! ENJOY!!!!
